No man is an island. An inclusive society ensures no one is left behind as the general living standard rises. The Community Champions Council (CCC) aims to raise awareness of social issues on the importance of community involvement. It inspires the rest of the college to be involved in community work and to see the importance of giving back to society. Amongst other things, students in the Council are involved in service-learning activities at Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens, block parties and food delivery to seniors. They also engage in weekly outreach activities to organisations such as All Saints Home (Hougang), where they work with the elderly to promote active ageing, and Zhonghua Primary School, mentoring students there. Through service-learning, students are more aware of the social issues faced by the community and individuals. At the same, they receive training that develops both their critical thinking and project management skills.
